How We Work

Initial Lighting Concepts

Firstly, our lighting design consultants would draw up some initial concepts. Our initial concepts, based on a client brief, would be by storyboard production in pdf format showing typical products and ideas and a brief description on how those products would be used. This would be to ascertain a direction for the lighting design project and to arrive at a scheme that would be sympathetic to the interior. Once the ideas are agreed, then we would develop a more detailed bespoke lighting design.

Detailed Lighting Design

Our lighting design consultants would produce detailed designs via modelling in a lighting design software package and production of drawings in dwg format produced from plans and elevations provided by the client. The lighting design would include lighting information such as average lighting levels, uniformity, light dispersion and energy levels. The drawings would show proposed positions and product types. Detailed circuit information would be provided on Microsoft Excel spreadsheets giving information such as correlated circuit numbers, load types, circuit loadings and dimensions of fittings. Drawings and spreadsheets would be emailed in zip folders.

Lighting Project Timescales

Our lighting design consultants will provide timescales, and these will depend on the complexity of the lighting project and client requirements.

We would require the following:

  • 1) Drawings in CAD or PDF format

  • 2) A client brief on specific ideas and requirements

  • 3) Any details showing areas with specific layouts and special requirements

  • 4) An idea of your timescales

  • 5) Site plan

  • 6) A formal letter engaging our services

  • 7) A payment structure agreed by both parties
